What is Anxiety?
When the body is put under stress, anxiety is a natural response. Anxiety can be partially described as the fear of the future or extreme nervousness about a circumstance. Speaking in front of people or being in crowds are triggers for some people.
Some people suffer from anxiety disorders where these feelings recur and sometimes last for longer periods.
Anxiety can manifest itself as a phobia (an irrational fear of objects or situations), separation anxiety (fear of being away from loved ones or home), and even in post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) which is anxiety after experiencing trauma.
How does it affect the body?
Anxiety can be a heavy distraction and can make many daily tasks tedious and more difficult than they’d normally be.
Restlessness and a lack of sleep can result from anxiety, robbing you of sleep and sending you exhausted into the next day.
The symptoms of anxiety often vary from case to case, but many have found that trouble concentrating, rapid breathing, and increased heart rate, and difficulty falling asleep were usually common symptoms.
Thankfully there’s a good selection of health supplements that can be used to decrease the symptoms of anxiety.
Which supplements should be used?
Ashwagandha is a plant with various alkaloids, steroidal lactones and saponins that has been used for years in ancient Indian medicine as a relaxant and stress-reliever. It is also available in supplement form.
B vitamins work directly on brain function and energy levels, making them useful players against the symptoms of anxiety.
Natural food supplements like turmeric, ginseng and Rhodiola are all good for boosting energy levels and lowering blood sugar, both of which can have an immediate effect on mood and help against anxiety.
A supplement with a combination of several extracts, like Phyto-ADR, is a good choice. It contains ashwagandha, Rhodiola and ginseng, all of which are agents used against anxiety.
