ProVen Probiotics for Babies (Formula Fed) has been specifically designed for formula fed babies from newborn to around 3 years of age, and does not require refrigeration. By three years of age, the composition of the microbiome is fixed for life and founding a healthy balanced microbiome as soon after birth as possible is critical in supporting the development of a robust immune system and digestive function. Factors that can affect the gut microbiome include pregnancy, childbirth, breast-feeding and also things like type of birth (caesarean section or vaginal), medication (particularly antibiotics) and diet. Proven Probiotics for Babies (Formula Fed) contains 10 billion of the Lab4b group of probiotics in one scoop. This consists of 2 specific strains of Lactobacillus acidophilus with Bifidobacterium bifidum and Bifidobacterium lactis. All four naturally form part of the microflora population of infants, along with prebiotic fibres naturally found in breast milk.This formulation works towards a more favourable balance of gut bacteria and strong immune system, and has been shown to help symptoms of indigestion such as reflux and colic.
SUGGESTED DOSAGE
As a food supplement, using the scoop provided, add one heaped scoop per day (1.1g) to formula milk once it has been made up and allowed to cool. Shake well before giving to baby.Do not add to hot milk, as the heat can destroy the live bacteria. Alternatively, apply the powder directly into the baby’s mouth by applying to a clean finger and letting the baby suck. Continue until two level scoopfuls have been consumed.
As a food supplement (for older children), take two scoops daily with food.
