Spore-based probiotics are delivered to the intestine as dormant spores where they revert to active, growing beneficial bacteria, known for their therapeutic qualities. They are particularly effective at withstanding stomach acid and enzymes that can destroy or degrade other probiotics.

Biospora contains two species: Bacillus coagulans and Bacillus subtilis. Both have the unique ability to form spores, able to withstand gastric hydrochloric acid, pancreatic enzymes, and bile. Spore based probiotics can reduce symptoms of leaky gut syndrome such as diarrheoa, constipation and gas and further protect and recondition the gut. While these spores lie dormant in the bottle, research shows that bacilli can adhere to the gut wall, revert to growing bacteria and flourish as they move through the small intestine to the large intestine.
